LIFE LESSON POETRY
You Went “There”
Navigating through evil
You went there…
crossed the invisible line
when the umbilical cord
of the soul is severed,
a silent scream of bloodshed
in your dark wake
The sun continues to rise
after the coffin is steeped
in Earth’s womb —
as do the threads
you cut,
unraveling
the tapestry
of Us
with the delicate precision
of a leopard devouring
its unsuspecting prey
You went there —
kicked me where
Life begins
sewed my mouth shut,
pinned my arms
like an insect only kept alive
to watch squirm
But your path:
a short journey
down
your decayed heart,
silently feasting on
its living corpse
