LIFE LESSON POETRY
The Greener Grass
and why it’s a facade
From where you stand,
the grass looks plush
under feet un-calloused
From where you sit,
the sky looks bluer
above brows un-furrowed
But the Observer
morphs the objects —
a Monet painting for one
The soul’s vision
fractured from
the invisible yardstick
(weighing more than
mere flesh and bone)
The optics shift
illusions die,
floodlights open,
upon reflection
Only then do we see
the perfect imperfections
there all along
in all of us
