Thank you, Liberty. 💓 Those abusive “role models” ultimately became some of my greatest teachers. I don’t know if I’d have the tenacity or resilience I do or the compassion in my heart (towards others and myself) if I hadn’t had that “schooling.” Spiritual sliding doors, perhaps; regardless, I can now recognize the pain and fear in an abuser and know their cruel words are not about the recipient and almost always about how they feel about themselves.
